ABOUT

Welcome to my website!

I’m the Lead Writer for USA Today SMG’s CelticsWire, a sports talk radio show host on 1480 AM WSAR, an on-air personality with WPRI Eyewitness New Providence, and a sports writer for the New Bedford Standard-Times. I’m also an entertainment writer for ScreenRant and CBR, and review various things for Geeks WorldWide.

(Yeah, I like to stay busy.)

I’ve covered the New England Patriots since 2014 and the Boston Red Sox since 2014 for the New Bedford Standard-Times (along with one year of Red Sox coverage the Red Sox for CSNNE.com, now nbcsportsboston.com.) My Red Sox coverage also now extends into the Providence Journal and the rest of GateHouse Media.

I’m also occasionally heard on WPRO filling in on The Gresh Show for Andy Gresh and can be heard as a guest on The Bradfo Sho with Rob Bradford of WEEI.com.

I attended Northwestern University from the fall of 2010 to the spring of 2014 where I received my degree in Journalism. I also played varsity baseball there for 4 years (even spent some time playing in the Cape Cod League for the Falmouth Commodores, and wrote for numberfire.com after my internship at Sports Illustrated in the fall of 2013, and have a background as a certified strength training professional.)

Feel free to email me at gfriar29@gmail.com, follow me on Twitter or add me on LinkedIn.

Unrelated facts: Prefer lifting to running / Raised on Rock but a lover of Country / Most influential teacher in my life was my high school chemistry teacher…it also seems worth noting I only took one science course in my entire college career
