Is it just me or are there A LOT of people on this escalator. Maybe I’m just not going to the right malls, but I’ve never seen that many people on one escalator.
And I don’t think Rome necessarily has much faster escalators than anywhere else either. Because the person recording this fiasco is clearly on an adjacent escalator.
So why did so many people hop on this thing when it was clearly operating at +15 MPH? How can you not see that this will end poorly?
Apparently, it caused multiple injuries, which I’m also surprised by. The only thing I’d be scared of is getting caught at the very bottom. I think that’s everyone’s fear (if you’re 12). That’s really the only way I could see anyone getting hurt unless you’re +55, then I get it.
PRO TIP: If you see an escalator moving faster than usual, don’t get on it.
