What in God’s named happened to Washington?? They went into play Thursday night down 6 games in the NL East, third in the division. That’s not an insurmountable lead at this point in the season though.
You know how i know that — outside of common sense — the Yankees have been loading up like crazy before the deadline and they entered Thursday down 5.5 games in the AL East, trailing the team with THE BEST RECORD IN BASEBALL.
So I’m pretty sure the Nationals could get back into it.
But I guess they’d rather hedge their bet, dish out Bryce Harper so they can make off with something before he signs elsewhere in the off-season.
Question is: who’s willing to give up a ton for a guy that won’t likely sign back with them?
