Seams Legit: Aaron Nola may have the best arm-side run in all of baseball

Aaron Nola is slowly becoming my favorite pitcher. This guy’s fastball highlight reel alone is more impressive than other pitchers’ full highlight reels.

I still like the guys who throw a ton of gas, but there’s something about a baseball starting at a guy’s hip and break over the plate that gets me going.


Then he drops in this stupid changeup:


And when you possess a fastball and a changeup that have very similar movement don’t have much of a chance. Which probably explains why Nola has a 2.27 ERA, an NL leading 12 wins and a 9.2 K/9.

He’s also got this in his back pocket:


Philly better pony up some cash when he becomes a free agent in 2022. Because I really don’t want to see him in Yankees pinstripes.
