I mean, how can we not apologize after the report that came out from The Ringer. Clearly it’s something EVERYONE is doing. I almost feel like an idiot for not having my own burner.
According to the report — which is well worth the read — Philadelphia 76ers’s president of basketball operations Bryan Colangelo has been operating several Twitter accounts that have “criticized Joel Embiid and Markelle Fultz, disclosed sensitive information and outline team strategy.”
The report explains it all further, because there are more layers to it. Some Batman-level detective work from the writer, Ben Detrick.
This is a whole new level of insanity. If I was to compare this with Durant’s fiasco, I would say Durant’s level of weirdness is essentially that of a teenager dealing with being dumped for the first time — not that big a deal — whereas Colangelo looks like Silas from The Da Vinci Code.
I don’t know how this happens without anyone in the 76ers organization catching wind. Just further reinforces that they’re more smoke and mirrors than we realized.
Then you’ve got this excerpt from the story that someone on Twitter highlighted:
If this is actually ex-76ers GM turned super secret (but kind of trying to be obvious and get some credit) spy Sam Hinkie, this is about as good a way to get revenge as you can hope. I want to say “I can’t think of a better way to get revenge,” but I couldn’t begin to fathom something this ludicrous, so there’s probably a better way to get payback that my small mind can’t wrap its mind around.
I assume more details about this will come out soon. And I honestly don’t expect this will be the last person who’s exposed for having burner Twitter accounts.
Though I’ll be very impressed if someone stops Colangelo’s level of stupidity.
