If that doesn’t give you goosebumps…well I guess you’re not a sap like me.
That was a genuine celebration of a Puerto Rican-native coming home and going yard. It’s simple. Lindor didn’t show up Jake Odorizzi or anyone else on the Twins. The moment felt like a little kid hitting his first little league home run after waiting all season. Everyone was genuinely happy to see him succeed.
There wasn’t an excessive bat flip or a Sammy Sosa hop-skip. It’s not like Lindor hit a nuke either, Robbie Grossman had it line up, it just carried a bit too far.
So what possessed Lindo to do this:
I am all for guys celebrating excessively. At the same time, I am also a fan of players duking it out over the dumbest reasons.
But I can’t see how this moment would incite any type of retaliation or hard feelings. And I can’t imagine anyone who’s watched, played or reported on the game for any length of time would disagree.
