So it looks like Cable might be the villain in Deadpool 2!!
Actually makes sense because the pair didn’t get along at first in the comics. I don’t think it was along the same lines, and for how long, but I know it wasn’t sunshine and rainbows from the start. Truthfully, it’s never sunshine and rainbows with these two.
But once again, this movie looks like it could be my favorite of the year. Yes, I realize Infinity War is the most highly anticipated movie ever — somehow they’ve even been able to bring stupid stats to the movie world, because people love it SO much with sports…sorry, just strikes a chord — but the first Deadpool is one of my absolute favorite movies. It had the right amount of action and (dirty) humor, plus a decent amount of darkness. Personally believe you need all three of those in a superhero movie, with the amount of each varying accordingly.
Looking at the film, there are 2 major items outside of Cable being the villain — why by the way, I bet they realize Cable’s mission was actually for the betterment of everyone by the end.
One, Deadpool forms the X-Force. Of course his standards take phenomenal shots at filmmakers. But Between Terry Crews (who’s supposedly playing Jesse Bedlam, who I know zero about, but Crews is awesome) and Zazie Beets’ Domino, it seems like this group has a TON of potential. Honestly, after seeing Domino in this trailer, I kind of want to give her solo comics a shot — if i wasn’t already reading like 12-15 titles, I probably would.
Two, the people in charge of Deadpool may be the best at bringing in an old school rap song into a superhero movie. Safe to say “Mama Said Knock You Out” was not something I expected in this movie. But after integrating “X Gon’ Give It To Ya” in the last movie, I shouldn’t be as surprised.
Deadpool 2 and Infinity War coming out within a month of each other. What a time to be alive.
